How We got here....Accident happen
Three weeks ago I was rushing my berner Dino to the vet with suspected pyometra (uterus infection) which can be life treathening and is very time sensitive. Well she did not
have pyometra and I was very happy but to my huge surprice she was pregnant. When I digested this information I was trying to figure out how this happen since I separate the
girls from the boys while they are in season and even if I'm breeding them. All my breedings are supervised to ensure safety and in most cases are not even done naturally.
Well Dino is pregnant and further along already so I was thinking probably my mister escaper Laax somehow get to her and bred her. Dino has some issues with pregnancy so
her and her puppies was monitored 2-3x a week by our reproduction specialist and also to try to figured out her due date since I did not have clue when she was bred. Her
progesterone level was dropping prematurely and she has to be put on supplement which did not help either to determinate due date. With all this care she start to act like she
is in labour but no puppies and trip to the vet again for possible C-section. We did not make it there on time.. first puppy "Beige boy" get stuck but I manage to take him out
safely on the side of the road in the car, when we got to vet she had second puppy born as she was getting out of the car "Baby Blue boy" and 3th one also boy at the vet. Dino
was so exhausted so we decided later in the day to finish with C-section and here we are 8 boys 3 girls safe and sound. Mom and puppies are doing great just to my huge surprice
they are not berners. Dad of this puppies is definitely one of my Mastiffs. DNA parentage will be done on all of the puppies to determinate the parentage. As a breeder I'm not
proud of that but accidents happened and puppies will have exactly same care like any of my another litters, I still will guarantee their health and for multiple reasons. My dogs
both breeds are health tested in generations back and both breeds have similar health issues as a breeds because Mastiff is ancestor to Bernese Mountain dog. If come down to
genetic or hereditary issues I will replace the puppy but since this was not intentional breeding I wont be able to replace the puppy of same mix so in that case there will be
choice of either Bernese Mountain Dog or Mastiff puppy and of course pure bred and registered. With all this being said I would like to thank to Graham Animal Hospital for
their amazing work monitoring and taking care of Dino and her puppies and being right on with due date even with that little info. They are all excited to see them back at
8 weeks since they were seeing them to grow from 3 weeks prior they were born. And now lets see this little cuties to grow....
